The next 3 weeks

The wind dyes down and we wait for a week just for the breeze of wind to push the ship. Looks like we got to make a navigation and supply check! We see the food and someone has been stealing the food! The whole crew looks at each other suspiciously. 2 weeks pass and our morale lowers to a 4. Our ship has severely gone of course and I pray to get back on track. My prayer has not applied to God and we see that the meat is shiny and sweet. Its gone rancid. Thankfully the lord answers with that the crew is healthy. 1 more week passes by, and me and the navigator new that there was a storm. So me and the navigator drove the ship with all my might and we survived the fierce storm. We happily praise the lord when we survived the storm.

My Goals for the New Year

Dear world,

It is near the new year so why not write a post on my resolutions. Happy holidays!

  • 1. One is writing. Ever since 3rd grade I need to fix my writing skills mostly narrative writing. NOT handwriting!
  • 2. Behavior. Its like I never think twice. This is a big resolution. Also makes people happy.
  • 3.Get better grades. My parents are constantly trying to make me smarter. Parents are concerned with their kids.
  • 4. For the final on is do better in tests. This is sort of related to getting better grades. Get good test scores, get good grades!

How do I Learn the best

Dear awesome world,

I toke this survey to show how good am I as a reader. After I saw the results; I'm an auditory learner. It helps if I talk out loud. Very strange huh? It also learns if I hear things more than once. After that, my low skills are tactile and visual. Visual learners help if you see pictures. And think better if you see images. If your a tactile learner it helps if you to use your body, hands and sense of touch to learn new things. Writing and drawing helps you remember important things.

Week 1: Beginning to sail

Week 1: We began to sail with thee of the lords bless. Cheers of joy and hope that we find land. I steer the ship wit ease. One week passed and on week one we check the navigation, and the crew seems to not trust the navigator. After that we check the supplies and we see green scum and a peculiar smell. And we see white larvae floating. The ships water can also cause illness. Will I ever make it out alive?

The age of exploration: Preparing to set Sail!!!

*read in a adventures voice* Attention comrades, It is the year 1495 of July. I have join a team of criminals and the poor. Queen Isabella accepted our request to go find the "new land" and claim it. I leave my family behind with sorrows of doubt to thee I pray for a successful journey.

We have a poor crew with good supplies and the best maps that We can get. I meet my crew with criminals and poor families. Basically  I steer the ship and able to escape storms. But somehow negotiation talk is poor.

We set sail in August 1, 1495

Surprise Subject Test!

Was up world,

This is a story of when I had a test and did not know what the subject was.
Hope you like it!

urrrrg, as I was studying I felt the light grew dimmer and dimmer and dimmer. I can’t take this any longer. as I was doing reading problems and answering them. I was almost done. Just this last problem I felt an ache on my hand. I decided I was done and went to bed.
“Wake up Mark, its 7:01.You breakfast is here.” I woke up with a shot of fear. Tomorrow is today! Whatever I thought it was out of my mind. I can get through this. As I was eating my oatmeal. My imagination went berserk. It looked like The peaches we're words asking me As soon as I was done questions. I got through it; but after it I was waiting outside.
An hour later, I realized I was walking towards the lab. Closer, closer, and closer. As the teacher started talking,
“ Welcome to the MAP’s test also known as the measurements of academic progress. Today we're doing the math test.” The teacher said with a pause.
Oh no! I studied for a reading test. As the process went by I got more worried and worried.
“All righty, lets get started. When the start button pops up you may begin,” Said the tech teacher.
When the button popped up I pressed it with half confident and half fear. When the first question popped up I was able to answer it. But more and more came up and it became harder.
“Students please find a stopping point and we will finish the test up tomorrow.”
When I heard that I felt a sigh of relief. As I finished up last question I was exited out from the test.  Now after the test, I now feel like that I can study tonight about math.
We I went home I was telling my mother about the test. She said ok, just get ready for tomorrow.
One day later. Ahhhhh, I felt the breeze in my face, pass by me with success. As I jumped out of bed with a casual walk to the kitchen I sat down and ate my breakfast like wolf. Then I tiptoed to my closet and prepared for the day.

So now here we go again. Walking down the hall and as soon as we got in we logged in the test and started where we left off yesterday. When I started I was ok. As it went on and on; minutes and minutes pass by with children’s brain working. When I saw other peoples screen They were done. I started to get worried so I was picking up the pace. And I saw a number that was the overall score, 215. So did everyone else. the had huge numbers and I started to get worried. Finally this was the last question and I was done. I answered it and got this miraculous number. 223 Was my overall score. I raised my hand with joy and my teacher went around and saw my score and reacted. I left the lab with feeling of  happiness.

Earths changing Surface

Whats up world, in back. In science we have been learning earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcano. These are my essential questions I received from my master.
1. what causes an earthquake?
2. How do earthquakes change the surface of the Earth?
3.How are tsunamis related to earthquakes?

Tectonic plates are what make Earth's surface. These plates are always moving.

1. Earthquakes happen when the tectonic plates rub against each other or over lap. That causes the shaking most of the time,  Fault lines. They are in earth's crust. The earthquake causes the fault lines to shift and move. It will spread through out Earth and cause damage. Sometimes earthquakes are so small you don't notice them! The earths crust is broken up to large pieces of rock. Each piece is called a tectonic plate. The plates are always moving.

2. Earthquakes can happen and become a mountain. For example, take your hands and line them up. Then push them together and they will arise. So that's what happened to an earthquake over time. If the earth quake is to strong it my cause damage, and damage buildings.

3. Tsunamis are related to earthquakes because its just an earthquake under water. The shaking causes the water to push and flood the area. Just like an earthquake. The crack makes Shaking and cause damage. Just like how a tsunami floods the area and cause damage by flooding the area. That's how earthquakes and tsunamis are related in different ways.

Now I'm doing volcanoes. I have to answer 4 questions. What is a volcano? What determinants a volcano to erupt? How do scientists classify volcanoes? How do volcanoes change earths surface?

1.  A volcano can form from a convergent earthquake. The tectonic plates press together and form a volcano. It's also an opening of earths surface; where magma and gases can rise to the surface. They form from mountains usually, not always.

2. An eruption can be slow. The magma bubbles up and prepares. The rocks under the Earth's crust becomes more damp and turns into a liquid The liquid starts to overflow, and starts to seep and flows out lava. Just like when you vomit. There are may different reasons you vomit. One is to much food. Your stomach starts to overflow and you throw up. Also, since it kind of opens up Earth's surface it lets out hot gases; to make ashes.

3. For some reason almost all the volcanoes are on the edges of the earth's tectonic plates. It is because there are holes in the Earth so those are where the volcanoes are. Sometimes these spots are called hot spots. flowing lava builds up new layers of land as it becomes solid on the sides of the volcano. In a cinder volcano, small rocks explode out of the top and rain down around the volcano. In a composite volcano both of these types of eruptions happen in turns over days or years

4. Flowing lava from volcanoes can cause new land to form, like Hawaii, it has islands that form from volcanoes. Volcanoes can also erupt with explosions that cause rocks and ash to cover land, and form land. Volcanoes can also blast away the top or side of a volcanic mountain. So it melts the ground and the ashes is placed so it forms new land.

The nervous System

Hey everyone! I'm back with a new blog post. In science I am learning about the nervous system. This is an important system for your body. Nerves Are like tiny wires the send messages from one place to another. So if I touch someone he/she will feel me touching them. Nerves are everywhere in your body including your stomach. For example if I had not eaten anything i'm going to be hungry, so the nerves send messages to my brain saying "I am hungry, I want some food." The nerves also help in your senses. just like before; if I touch. That is one of the five senses. In case you did not know what that is, the five senses are hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, and touching. This is why the nervous system is one of the important parts in our body.
All right, that's all I've got! Peace!- Mark

Whats up world in back with some info! In science i'm still learning about the nervous system. One question I am answering is how does each different component help the nervous system. When the first years of a baby; the brain does not grow much. But the brain has about one billion neurons. That's a lot of nerves inside a brain. The brain functions in a different way than others.Major areas in the brain grow up to age 15. But other parts take longer than others. Some parts can grow until there 20's. The nervous system is also a group of the five senses. Everything you experience is coming from your senses! Like your eyes and ears. They are constantly receiving information that go to your brain.

Hey guys and gals, I'm back with some more questions! Please read and spread the word of my blog please.
1.How does the brain receive information from outside from the body?
2.How does the nervous system work with your muscles?
3.How does the brain work with our involuntary muscles?

1. The brain receives info from outside because the brain is like a nerve. So when you get tired of running, the brain says to slow down. The way it does this is because of the nervous system. When you react quickly it is called stimuli. Stimuli are events that cause an organism to react. There! You learned a new word! Your nervous system allows you to experience everything.

2. The brain is like the main controller. So your brain tells your muscles to relax, move, write. If you decide to get up and move your brain tells your muscles to act. The brain sends messages that are electrical. Did you know that the brain stem is connected to your spinal cord? So the messages go to your spinal cord! So its not the brain that's the boss.
3.The brain sends messages to our body to keep going; don't stop. And our involuntary muscles do it. It even does it without the brain telling them too. Just like your heart, it does not stop beating. To me its like that the word "involuntary" it means that the muscles volunteer to work. Certain things help your nervous system. That helps our lungs to breath. You don't have to think about it!
All right world, I've answered the questions and I hope you use my blog! Peace!-Mark.

Hola amigos! Just to inform you I'm done with the nervous system! so I will write a new blog post about a new unit. Bye!

making myself a scientist, Mixture's Web Quest #1

hey everyone! its me, Mark I have recently been given the task to be a scientist. I took some soil from a construction site. I will analyze the soil if it's good or not by deciding the contaminates in it. All right, thanks for reading ill be back with some more data! Peace! -Mark

Hey everyone i'm back with some data! I think my soil sample is a mixture because the soil sample has contaminants (of course) and it can be separated.
all right guys that's all if got peace! -Mark

whats up world i'm back with some answers to my task. There are three types of matter. liquid, gas, solid. One matter has different properties, volume mass shape color. There are two common properties, they are mass, and volume. Mass is how much objects take up. One thing that helped me with this was my Discovery Education Science-Tech Book. Mass is sort of the same thing as weight. Weight measures the force of gravity in an object. Mass is measured by a balance or scale. Weight is different from the Moon then Earth. Mass does not change but weight does. For example, I bring a translucent cube. So I can see through it. I go to the moon, and the mass does not change but weight does.

     1. I collected the soil from the construction site.
     2. I fount the mass inside the soil by using a scale.
     3. I separated the soil from the contaminates (by hand)
4.And i wrote the data on my soil sleuth data tracking sheet
