Earths changing Surface

    Whats up world, in back. In science we have been learning earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcano. These are my essential questions I received from my master.
1. what causes an earthquake?
2. How do earthquakes change the surface of the Earth?
3.How are tsunamis related to earthquakes?

Tectonic plates are what make Earth's surface. These plates are always moving.


1. Earthquakes happen when the tectonic plates rub against each other or over lap. That causes the shaking most of the time,  Fault lines. They are in earth's crust. The earthquake causes the fault lines to shift and move. It will spread through out Earth and cause damage. Sometimes earthquakes are so small you don't notice them! The earths crust is broken up to large pieces of rock. Each piece is called a tectonic plate. The plates are always moving.

2. Earthquakes can happen and become a mountain. For example, take your hands and line them up. Then push them together and they will arise. So that's what happened to an earthquake over time. If the earth quake is to strong it my cause damage, and damage buildings.

3. Tsunamis are related to earthquakes because its just an earthquake under water. The shaking causes the water to push and flood the area. Just like an earthquake. The crack makes Shaking and cause damage. Just like how a tsunami floods the area and cause damage by flooding the area. That's how earthquakes and tsunamis are related in different ways.

Now I'm doing volcanoes. I have to answer 4 questions. What is a volcano? What determinants a volcano to erupt? How do scientists classify volcanoes? How do volcanoes change earths surface?

1.  A volcano can form from a convergent earthquake. The tectonic plates press together and form a volcano. It's also an opening of earths surface; where magma and gases can rise to the surface. They form from mountains usually, not always.

2. An eruption can be slow. The magma bubbles up and prepares. The rocks under the Earth's crust becomes more damp and turns into a liquid The liquid starts to overflow, and starts to seep and flows out lava. Just like when you vomit. There are may different reasons you vomit. One is to much food. Your stomach starts to overflow and you throw up. Also, since it kind of opens up Earth's surface it lets out hot gases; to make ashes.

3. For some reason almost all the volcanoes are on the edges of the earth's tectonic plates. It is because there are holes in the Earth so those are where the volcanoes are. Sometimes these spots are called hot spots. flowing lava builds up new layers of land as it becomes solid on the sides of the volcano. In a cinder volcano, small rocks explode out of the top and rain down around the volcano. In a composite volcano both of these types of eruptions happen in turns over days or years

4. Flowing lava from volcanoes can cause new land to form, like Hawaii, it has islands that form from volcanoes. Volcanoes can also erupt with explosions that cause rocks and ash to cover land, and form land. Volcanoes can also blast away the top or side of a volcanic mountain. So it melts the ground and the ashes is placed so it forms new land.

The nervous System

     Hey everyone! I'm back with a new blog post. In science I am learning about the nervous system. This is an important system for your body. Nerves Are like tiny wires the send messages from one place to another. So if I touch someone he/she will feel me touching them. Nerves are everywhere in your body including your stomach. For example if I had not eaten anything i'm going to be hungry, so the nerves send messages to my brain saying "I am hungry, I want some food." The nerves also help in your senses. just like before; if I touch. That is one of the five senses. In case you did not know what that is, the five senses are hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, and touching. This is why the nervous system is one of the important parts in our body.

      Whats up world in back with some info! In science i'm still learning about the nervous system. One question I am answering is how does each different component help the nervous system. When the first years of a baby; the brain does not grow much. But the brain has about one billion neurons. That's a lot of nerves inside a brain. The brain functions in a different way than others.Major areas in the brain grow up to age 15. But other parts take longer than others. Some parts can grow until there 20's. The nervous system is also a group of the five senses. Everything you experience is coming from your senses! Like your eyes and ears. They are constantly receiving information that go to your brain.

    1.How does the brain receive information from outside from the body?
    2.How does the nervous system work with your muscles?
    3.How does the brain work with our involuntary muscles?

1. The brain receives info from outside because the brain is like a nerve. So when you get tired of running, the brain says to slow down. The way it does this is because of the nervous system. When you react quickly it is called stimuli. Stimuli are events that cause an organism to react. There! You learned a new word! Your nervous system allows you to experience everything.

2. The brain is like the main controller. So your brain tells your muscles to relax, move, write. If you decide to get up and move your brain tells your muscles to act. The brain sends messages that are electrical. Did you know that the brain stem is connected to your spinal cord? So the messages go to your spinal cord! So its not the brain that's the boss.
3.The brain sends messages to our body to keep going; don't stop. And our involuntary muscles do it. It even does it without the brain telling them too. Just like your heart, it does not stop beating. To me its like that the word "involuntary" it means that the muscles volunteer to work. Certain things help your nervous system. That helps our lungs to breath. You don't have to think about it!

making myself a scientist, Mixture's Web Quest #1

     hey everyone! its me, Mark I have recently been given the task to be a scientist. I took some soil from a construction site. I will analyze the soil if it's good or not by deciding the contaminates in it. All right, thanks for reading ill be back with some more data! Peace! -Mark

     Hey everyone i'm back with some data! I think my soil sample is a mixture because the soil sample has contaminants (of course) and it can be separated.

     whats up world i'm back with some answers to my task. There are three types of matter. liquid, gas, solid. One matter has different properties, volume mass shape color. There are two common properties, they are mass, and volume. Mass is how much objects take up. One thing that helped me with this was my Discovery Education Science-Tech Book. Mass is sort of the same thing as weight. Weight measures the force of gravity in an object. Mass is measured by a balance or scale. Weight is different from the Moon then Earth. Mass does not change but weight does. For example, I bring a translucent cube. So I can see through it. I go to the moon, and the mass does not change but weight does.

     1. I collected the soil from the construction site.
     2. I fount the mass inside the soil by using a scale.
     3. I separated the soil from the contaminates (by hand)
     4.And i wrote the data on my soil sleuth data tracking sheet
